I recently had the opportunity to work with Hunter Hall, founder of the Lumenight project β a creative endeavor that uses large-format 3D printing to bring immersive light sculptures and art installations to life at events and festivals.
Hunter specializes in designing and fabricating massive, illuminated art pieces using custom 3D-printed components. I was brought in to consult on the technical side of 3D printing, helping optimize print settings, troubleshoot machine setup, and streamline his workflow for reliable, large-scale output.
We tackled challenges like:
- Dialing in layer height and material settings for structural integrity
- Improving adhesion and print consistency on oversized models
- Advising on bed leveling, filament choice, and hardware upgrades
Itβs always rewarding to see functional technology support artistic expression, and this project was a perfect blend of both. Looking forward to what Lumenight creates next!
